Susan Wingate was born the 12th of August, 1958 in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Arizona State University where she received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting in 1994. Throughout her life and into her business career, Susan continued to write. In 1997, she began her first novel. It took ten years from its first glimmer of the idea until its publishing in 2007. In 2004, she met international best-selling author, Michael Collins, who nurtured her writing. His mentorship was key to Susan in completing OF THE LAW. In 2006, a compilation of Susan's writings was published called, RAVINGS OF A MAD GENTLEWOMAN: A Bold Collection of Writing. In RAVINGS, Susan's writing visits various forms and techniques of the short story, the essay, and the poem.
In 1997, she moved from Phoenix where she was born and raised and where her sister and many of her aunts, uncles, and cousins still reside. Much of Susan's writing is set in the southwest U.S. and the Pacific Northwest.
Her poem, The Fisherman, The Eagle, and Jesus, Susan won 2nd place in the 2006 Foster City International Writing Competition.
Susan writes novels, short stories, essays, poetry, and plays, and lives with her husband, Bob, in Washington State where she writes full time.
